BIOLOGICAL & IVF FERTILIZATION

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) where sperm and eggs are fertilized outside the human body. IVF involves retrieving eggs from the ovaries and manually combining them with sperm in a lab. The resulting embryo is then transferred into the uterus for potential implantation and pregnancy.

How Common is IVF?
Approximately 5% of couples facing infertility undergo IVF. Since 1978, more than 8 million babies have been born worldwide through IVF, making it one of the most successful assisted reproductive technologies available today. Our IVF specialists use the latest techniques and technologies to improve success rates and patient outcomes.
Ovarian Stimulation

You will take daily injectable hormone medications to stimulate the ovaries to mature multiple eggs instead of the usual one egg produced during a natural cycle.

Monitoring

Your ovaries’ response will be monitored using ultrasounds and blood hormone level checks.

Trigger Shot

When your eggs are ready for final maturation, a trigger shot is administered exactly 36 hours before egg retrieval.

Egg Retrieval & Fertilization

A thin needle, guided by ultrasound, retrieves eggs from the ovaries under mild sedation. Eggs are then placed in an incubator, where an embryologist fertilizes them using ICSI or standard methods.

Embryo Development

Fertilized embryos are monitored over 5-6 days. Approximately 50% will progress to the blastocyst stage, suitable for transfer or freezing.

Embryo Transfer

A fresh or frozen embryo is transferred into the uterus. Your healthcare provider will recommend the best option for your situation.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is confirmed approximately 9-14 days after embryo transfer through a blood test to detect pregnancy hormone (hCG) levels.
